Episode 4: Finding a new warrior!
[Tyoutarou Banba, aka Bancho, introduced]
[Brief summary]

The three Gate Keepers were aboard the Shinkansen (bullet train) to check out a Gate Keeper candidate. Both Shun and Reiko were acting childishly because it was their first time to board Shinkansen. Shinkansen stopped at Nagoya and Reiko went out to buy lunch. Shinkansen headed further, leaving Reiko behind. (Episode Title)

Ruriko and Shun arrived at Himeji Castle to find Gate Keeper candidate B-374, Choutarou Banba aka "Bancho" somewhere. Ruriko showed her AEGIS license to a man who happened to be an AEGIS Agent. The agent confirmed that Chotarou Banba was in the castle.

Somewhere in the castle was Bancho who was surrounded by a gang. The battle was supposed to be one on one as the gang leader promised. Bancho shed tears for the gang leader because he could not tolerate lifeforms who could not keep promises. Bancho combatted the troops and used his "Double Inner Circle Throw" to the gang leader. Instantly, the whole gang was defeated. Bancho was about to walk off after a "worthless fight" when Shun stopped him. Ruriko and Shun were right behind and were wearing gang costumes. Shun was wearing a costume similar to Bancho's attire and Ruriko was wearing an afro wig (similar to the gang leader - except Ruriko still had the yellow ribbon!), a mask, and was holding a chain. Ruriko cried and shame and said she could not face her mother. Shun explained to Ruriko that their costumes were made for them by AEGIS Costume department to cover their identity. Bancho asked who they were. Shun introduced himself as "Ukiya of Tokyo" and Ruriko introduced herself as "Ruri of the Chain". Shun told Bancho he came to fight him. Bancho was touched that his fame reached Tokyo. ^_^; Shun challenged Bancho to a fight but Bancho refused and said he never fights without a reason. Shun mocked Bancho and said he was just afraid to fight him. Bancho agreed to have a fight. A vehicle raced to their direction, cancelling the fight. Invaders bashed the car with their bazookas. Shun used his newly learned technique, "Vacuum Missile", but it missed. Invaders turned to Ruriko and Shun and fired them with their bazookas until it destroyed their disguise. Bancho noticed Ruriko and dramatically said she must be the princess reborn (senhime). Ruriko hit an Invader, and the remaining Invaders retreated. Bancho asked who they were. Shun revealed that they were the Gate Keepers. Ruriko called Shun's attention for revealing their identity. Shun said not to worry because Bancho was their ally. Bancho looked at Ruriko and kneeled before her. Bancho said he would do anything for Ruriko. The man in the vehicle appeared behind and called Bancho. Bancho called the man Hachiman-senpai (note: Hachiman means God of War). Bancho said Hachiman was his hero.
<flashback>Bancho was lying on the ground defeated. Hachiman stood before him and offered him food (or salt?). Hachiman told Bancho to use his strength for other people and not only for himself. Bancho cried.<end flashback>
Bancho contined that from that day he became the "delinquent of justice". Hachiman asked Bancho's help in their demonstration against the president of Salt Industries. The president seemed to have a plan to abolish the salt fields.

In the Castle Salt Industries building, the president was worried about the demonstration against him. The president's right hand, who had been working for him for three years, demanded the president that they should go on with their plan.

Ruriko thought that Invaders may have infiltrated the Castle Salt Industries. Shun wondered where Reiko was when they needed her.

Reiko sneezed and looked at the castle behind her. -Caption: Matsumoto Castle- Reiko knew she arrived at the wrong castle.

Ruriko reported to Shirei about the unexpected case of Castle Salt Industry. Miss Ochiai informed Shirei that the Castle Salt Industries had a surprising achievement for three years. Shirei ordered Ruriko and Shun to investigate the Castle Salt Industries. Ruriko and Shun agreed to Shirei's order through their communication watches. Bancho yelled he wanted to go with them because he wanted to protect "Princess Ruriko" (and Ruriko hated it) but he had a demonstration to attend. Hachiman allowed Bancho to go with Shun and Ruriko because the demonstration would start in the evening. Ruriko protested that Bancho was still an unconfirmed Gate Keeper. Shun told Ruriko that Bancho was a Gate Keeper and added that women would not understand men who traded punches. Ruriko noted that they had not traded puches yet. Bancho thanked Shun, and Shun told Bancho they were comrades. Ruriko wished Reiko was with them.

-Caption: Nijou Castle- Reiko realized she came to the wrong caslte again.

Ruriko, Shun, and Bancho came to the Castle Salt Industries to interview the president's right hand. They pretended to have an assignment about "Proper Cultivation of Special Regions". Bancho's tongue slips and asked about the Invaders. The president's right hand turned to them in suspicion and Ruriko and Shun said it was nothing while covering Bancho's mouth. The president's right hand led them to a warehouse and transformed into a red Invader. The red Invader locked them inside.

Invaders appeared where the demonstration would be held. A group of men appear in front in Hachiman's group and hid themselves in smokescreen. When the smoke was gone, the men had already transformed into AEGIS Soldiers.

Miss Ochiai reported to Shirei about Invaders' appearance in the salt fields. Shirei asked Miss Ochiai about the item. Miss Ochiai said it had finally arrived from Fuchu Base.

Shun tried opening the warehouse door but it would not budge. Bancho used his strength, calling himself Gate Super, until he opened the door. Shun praised Bancho and Ruriko muttered that it was not gate power.

Outside, while they were running, Ruriko gave a distress call to AEGIS headquarters. After running a bit, they stopped when a truck appeared. The truck revealed the Yotahachi in its back compartment. Shun could not believe in amazement. Ruriko explained that AEGIS makes sure Yotahachi was always in a three minute range around them. Even though Yotahachi was a two-sitter, Bancho pushed himself in the car to come with them. Shun drove the car but noticed the traffic in Sanyo Highway. Shun noticed a nearby pavement and had a plan. Shun accelerated Yotahachi and made it to jump to the nearby pavement. Bancho took Ruriko closer to him to balance the car, Shun acted with Bancho and leaned to Ruriko. Ruriko screamed, "PERVERT!".

AEGIS Soldiers were being beaten. Yotahachi finally arrived at the location. Bancho rushed to an Invader but got beaten instead. Shun hit the Invaders with "Ultra Whirlwind Slash", but hurt them only for a while. Invaders form their fusion and turned into a gigantic Centipede. The Centipede headed to Ruriko, who did not think of attacking (because it was a centipede...). A large log was thrown to the Centipede, Bancho rushed with another log in his hands and yelled, "GATE OYABUN!" (gate gang chief) The Centipede was broken to pieces. Shun praised Bancho, but Ruriko still said it was not a gate power. The red Invader led the black Invaders to a body of water. When they got in the middle, each Invader turned into a block. They merged and formed into a Massive Wall. The Massive Wall pushed the water towards the salt fields, planning to drown them all. Shun tried to stop the wave with his puny "Vacuum Missile". Of course it did not work. Bancho cried and said he'd happily die with "Princess Ruriko". Ruriko complained not to say such words. Shun wished he had more power. To their aid, Megane appeared from the sky. Megane was aboard a helicopter and brought with him the Gate Engine. Shun asked Ruriko what a Gate Engine was. Ruriko told Shun that it was the item/secret weapon he protected.

Shirei explained that the Gate Engine is a machine that amplifies gate power into physical power. In the Gate Engine's core was the engine block that reacted to Shun's power (episode 1).

Shun jumped to the Gate Engine and started to draw power. The wave was nearing them and Ruriko hurried Shun. Shun continued collecting power. When the wave was really *really* near them, Ruriko screamed more. Shun had finally collected enough power. The Gate Engine exhausted smoke and Shun released his amplified power. Shun's power destroyed the Massive Wall and also pushed the flow upwards.

Inside the AEGIS Hangar, Ruriko told Shirei that Bancho was not a GateKeeper. Shun protested and said Bancho did not get the chance to show his power. Bancho appeared. Shun asked how he got inside the base. Bancho said he would be always at Princess Ruriko's side. Megane explained that Bancho might have hung into the whell of the helicopter. Bancho saw Shirei and shook his hands firmly and strongly. Shun pleaded to Shirei to hire Bancho because he had been helpful. Shirei decided to make Bancho a Gate Keeper in training. Bancho was happy that he would always be at Princess Ruriko's side. Ruriko was not happy with it and cried. Shirei asked where Reiko was, both Shun and Ruriko totally forgot about her.

Episode 5: Run towards your dream!
[Kaoru Konoe introduced]
[Brief summary]

(1964) A girl was eagerly watching track and field olympics on TV along with her father and brothers. The girl became even more hooked on the match when Bob Hayes broke the old record in 100 m race. The girl asked her father if it was possible for her to become an Olympian. Her father said it was possible if she would work hard. (Episode Title)

Bancho ran to Shun and yelled about secret-call up. Shun covered Bancho's mouth before he could say more. Their classmates were looking at them, so Shun made up a reason that he and Bancho were going to the bathroom. Shun and Bancho hurried outside.

They arrive at the base. Shirei told them of a new Gate Keeper who can greatly increase physical power. Ruriko asked where they could find this Gate Keeper. Bancho wished it were in Kyushu because he had not been there, while Reiko wished it were in Hokkaido because of variety of delicious foods. Shirei pointed to the Gate Keeper's location — just right behind them! A silhouette of a skinny figure was standing. Bancho prepared to test the Gate Keeper candidate's skills. Bancho rushed to the Gate Keeper candidate but he got thrown (by the candidate) instantly. Bancho's body sinked in the wall and he realized that the Gate Keeper was a girl. Shirei began to introduce the girl by playing a movie account. The girl's name was Kaoru Konoe, excellent in all areas of sports and her gate ability was called the Gate of Close Combat. Shirei led the Gate Keepers to a room with a treadmill. Kaoru jumped and started to run. Kaoru ran progressively until the treadmill exploded. Smoke filled the air and Shirei continued to talk when the smoke lessened. Shirei explained that Kaoru can overpower human strength and speed limit. The Gate Keepers were amazed and thought Kaoru was joining. Unfortunately Kaoru just came to the base to test her skill. Kaoru said she was not willing to join "Whatever-Keeper". For Kaoru, unrealistic stories were like dreams. Kaoru walked away.

Ruriko read Kaoru's information from a file that she possessed. According to the file, Kaoru had a running record of 100 m in less than 9 seconds. After hearing this, they were all amazed that Kaoru just broke the record of an Olympian (Hayes) who ran the same distance in 10.06 seconds. Ruriko read further and discovered that Kaoru got disqualified (record unaccepted) and various rumors spread about her that made her to quit the athletics club. Shun asked suggestively why Kaoru did not run without using power. Ruriko recalled to Shun that he once unleashed his gate without any control of it. Bancho literally cried *dramatically* for Kaoru's fate.

Scouting Helicopter # 303 pilot reported that there were no signs of UGO (Unidentified Ground Object) around Metro Highway. A UGO destroyed Metro Highway once so Shirei was asking for a report within the area. Miss Ochiai put down a cup of coffee on Shirei's desk and asked about the Invaders' purpose. Shirei had no idea. Shirei sipped his coffee and made a weird look (similar to the weird faces of transforming Invaders). Miss Ochiai just remembered Shirei hated instant coffee! -_-;;;

Just right in Tategami field, Kaoru was watching girls running for their gym class. The Gate Keepers party saw her so they checked on her. Shun noted to Kaoru that she was watching the girls because she wanted to run. After saying that, Shun tried to convince Kaoru to go to Tategami and join the athletics club. However, Kaoru told them she was not envying the running girls; she was thinking that they were just wasting their energy. Kaoru continued by telling her story; she had always been the best in school because of her gate, and for her gate power was just like a talent, and there was no need to do hardwork. Shun wanted Kaoru to change her mind so he challenged her to a match. Shun made a deal that if he would win, Kaoru would join the Gate Keepers party. Without hesitation, Kaoru agreed.
The match was kendo, a sport that Shun was supposed to be good at. Contrary to Shun's expertise, he was still unmatchable to Kaoru who won 21 matches straight. Shun was completely worn out and he fell to the floor. Ruriko told Kaoru she had gone too far. Kaoru retorted that Shun should not have wasted his energy. Kaoru ran away. Ruriko was about to stop Kaoru from going away when Shun took Ruriko's hand to stop her. Shun said it was his fault because he made Kaoru use her power more, and "power" was the reason Kaoru quitted. Shun holding Ruriko's hand was supposed to be a sweet scene but Shun mentioned the word "Rurippe" again. Ruriko hit Shun directly to his bruises. Shun's cry was heard all over the kendo building.

Two AEGIS Scouting Helicopters continued their search but still no sign of UGO. A red Invader was disguised as a lightpost, scouting the AEGIS helicopters.

Kaoru was fetched by an AEGIS Agent to be driven back home. A school bus passed along the car Kaoru was in. The kids inside the bus waved at Kaoru. Kaoru smiled back at them. There was a sudden traffic and the road plates began to fly. The AEGIS agent detected a strange wave — Invaders!

Shirei dispatched the Gate Keepers Party to protect the newly constructed Tomei Highway. AEGIS was tricked because they thought the UGO was appearing somewhere in Metro Highway.

The Invader Road Plates started stomping on civilian vehicles. The school bus almost fell into a crater formed by those stomping Plates but Kaoru got a hold of the bus and carried it to safety. The AEGIS agent rescued the kids — just right above them was an Invader Plate, but Kaoru managed to catch it. Another Road Plate added to Kaoru's burden and she could not almost carry it even with her gate power. Kaoru could not believe that there were Invaders - and the fact that they were stronger. Ruriko and Shun came to Kaoru's rescue and eliminated the Road Plates. Shun and Ruriko told Kaoru to escape because it was their mission. Another Road Plate came after them. Having a strategy, Ruriko and Shun led the Road Plate to Reiko and her piano. Reiko was about to play the piano when she realized she misplaced Dazzling Melody Chapter 4. When Reiko found the missing piece on the ground, her piano was already crushed by the Invaders. >_< Shun called Megane through his communicating wristwatch and asked for the Gate Engine. Megane said it would take him twenty minutes because the Gate Engine needed repairs.

Shirei doubted about Gate Engine's usablity because of its unreliable source of flexible mobility. Kaoru's close combat ability was strongly needed that time.

Ruriko and Shun could not wait longer for the Gate Engine so they would have to fight the Road Plates themselves. Shun told Ruriko to cover him while he comes nearer the Road Plates. Kaoru warned Ruriko that it was useless because the Invader Plate almost crushed her. Ruriko disagreed and added that Shun was reliable so they could do it.

Shun waited for Ruriko's cover. Ruriko went to Shun and attacked the Plate. Ruriko's attack created a cleft in the Plate. While Shun was dodging the Plates' smashing, he spotted the red Invader inside cleft. Shun prepared for an attack but realized that his wooden sword was already crushed.

Reiko and Kaoru watched the fighting from afar. Reiko wished Ruriko and Shun good luck. Kaoru narrated that she tried the best she could to get closer to her dreams. Instead of becoming realized by others, Kaoru was rejected because for her clubmates she always won the tournaments without practicing. Because of that Kaoru chose to quit instead of pursuing her dreams. Reiko relieved Kaoru and said she understood her. Reiko also had a conflict in life but Reiko liked piano so much she had been playing it. Reiko, in a way, made Kaoru realized something good.

Ruriko suggested that they should escape. Shun told Ruriko to think Kaoru who could use gate power without relying on instruments. Shun concentrated while he was drawing power. Over Shun were two Road Plates that merged into one. The Merged Road Plate landed down while Shun was still drawing power.

It was a good thing Kaoru came and caught the Road Plate and instilled to herself that she wanted to try again. Rings of light circled Kaoru's eyes as she was pushing the Road Plate. Shun was glad to see Kaoru. Shun finally released his collected power. Bluish green force yielded and pushed the Road Plate upward. Shun's power continued to rise above, and then headed down directly to the cleft, aimed at the red Invader. The Road plate was finally finished. Shun commeded Kaoru for what she did. Kaoru was teary eyed and said no one had ever praised her for working hard.

The next day, Kaoru was already wearing Tategami uniform. Kaoru called "Ukiya-senpai" who was walking with Ruriko. Ruriko told Kaoru that she heard the sports club was trying hard to recruit her, Shun added that it must be hard to reject the offer. Kaoru did not really mind the offer because she was not allowed to join tournaments. Kaoru said she was contented to do all the hard work in earth defense jobs. Kaoru added she had found a new goal that did not require physical strength. After mentioning about it she ran away, then she turned back and told Ruriko she would not lose to her. Ruriko wondered what Kaoru meant. Shun said it was either the race to the faster eater or a sniveler fight. Ruriko gave Shun another round of her punches.
Episode 6: Infiltrate the girl's dormitory of terror!
[Brief summary]

Gate Keepers were having a terrible fight against Invaders in Kaminarimon Gate. Shun attacked with Vacuum Missile, Ruriko with her Arrow of light, and Kaoru with her Hustle. Reiko was about to play the piano but it got smashed (again) by a huge Invader Lantern. Everyone was fighting the Lantern poorly and Reiko demanded for another piano. (episode title)

After the battle, Gatekeepers reported back to the base. Shirei commented that they have defeated Invaders in a poor manner. Shirei came up with an idea to assign a captain that would lead them strategically.

'TAICHOU (captain) ?!' Ruriko was in deep thinking. Ruriko thought that she could not be captain because she was a member of the student council.
'TAICHOU!?' Shun also thought of being a captain.
And so was the non-Gate Keeper Megane.
Reiko broke all their thinking and suggested the the first GateKeeper, "Ruriko-san", should be the captain. Ruriko told Reiko she could not (although she wanted to be captain) because she was leader in various clubs, and president of the student council. Then Kaoru spoke up and suggested that "Ukiya-senpai" should be captain. Shun also told Kaoru that he could not be captain because all he could do was cut through an enemy. Ruriko agreed with Shun. Kaoru asked Ruriko-senpai if she did not really want to be captain. Of course deep inside Ruriko was a want to be captain. Megane volunteered for himself and claimed that he can formulate well-thought plans with his genius. Bancho followed Megane's volunteer, and all of them started fighting over who would be captain. Shirei had enough of their fight so he decided that the voting would be moved next week.

In Class-2A's room, Shun recalled two of the policies of AEGIS but forgot the third one, thanks to Bancho's loud snoring. Shun jumped from his seat and quickly woke Bancho with a punch. Ruriko thought that if one of them ended as a captain, Gate Keepers would be doomed.

In the school grounds, Kaoru performed a high jump while thinking on how she could help Shun to become their captain. Megane, who was jogging behind his classmates, seemed to know what Kaoru was thinking. Megane imagined "Super Kaoru" jumping over the Tokyo Tower. Megane thought that if he would be the captain, he could make Kaoru conquer the Tokyo Tower. Megane laughed at his thoughts and ended up crashing into the soccer net.

After school, inside a female dormitory, Kaoru thought of the wonderful bath she just had. Kaoru noticed her dorm mates talking about something. When Kaoru's dorm mates noticed her, they quickly headed back to their rooms. Kaoru did not like it because she felt she was not welcomed just because she was new in the dormitory.

Reiko was sleeping in a big bed *in a big room* (her parents must have paid big cash for a big room in a dorm) when she heard a loud noise from the outside. She went out to check and happened to meet up with Kaoru. They had the same ideas that a strange thing was happening in their dormitory. They came up with the idea to open the window and check what was happening outside. Kaoru was about to open the window when Senior Shimamura (a senior student, head of the dormitory) stopped them and warned them not to go to Room 104 because it was the FORBIDDEN ROOM. Having heard of Senior Shimamura's warning, Reiko and Kaoru screamed in fear.

The next day, in Tategami rooftop; the Gate Keepers, Megane, and Bancho were discussing about the strange things that happened in Violet Dormitory (the dormitory of Kaoru and Reiko). Megane pressumed that the Invaders must have discovered that their base was right under Tategami School. They hope that this were not true. Kaoru looked at Shun and thought that if she would be able to make "Ukiya-senpai" solve this dormitory case — Shun would be captain. Megane and Bancho thought the same, but not making Shun as their captain — but themselves.

After school, Kaoru took the girl-dressed Shun to her dormitory. Shun hesitated but Kaoru just wanted him to be captain. Kaoru remarked that Shun looked cute in his girl outfit. Shun told Kaoru that her remark did not make him more happier. (hehe) Megane and Bancho (who were hidden in a bush) overheard their conversation and envied Shun because Violet dormitory was a forbidden flower garden to boys. They combined forces and planned to infiltrate the dormitory at night.

It was already night time when Reiko took Ruriko to her dorm. They headed straight to the forbidden room. Ruriko noticed that the room was the only one in that side of the corridor and the door was different from the other rooms. Ruriko decided to check inside but Reiko thought twice. When Reiko agreed, Senior Shimamura appeared and told them that they should go inside their rooms. Senior Shimamura noticed that Ruriko was not from the dormitory. Ruriko explained herself and said she needed to check the inside of Forbidden Room because something was strange. Senior Shimamura insisted that they should go away. Suddenly, bright light flashed through the door's small opening. Ruriko wondered what was it and asked Senior Shimamura to let them check it. Senior Shimamura said it was nothing and when the light flashed again, she yelled at Reiko and Ruriko. When Reiko and Ruriko were gone, Senior Shimamura whispered through the door's opening that it was time to change their plans.

Bancho and Megane climbed to a window with Megane's portable ladder. Kaoru entered her room where Shun was waiting. Kaoru removed her jacket and Shun thought she would be stripping off her clothes! Kaoru just removed her jacked to reveal the snacks she got downstairs. Kaoru put the snacks on the floor and started eating. Shun sensed something strange so he opened the window and saw Megane and Bancho. At almost the same time, Ruriko and Reiko opened the door and noticed Megane and Bancho in the window — and Shun dressed as a girl! Ruriko yelled at them. Megane and Bancho fell from the window with the ladder while Shun held the window panels to stop himself from falling.

Later, at Reiko's room (its a bigger room and there's a piano in the background), Ruriko lectured Megane and Bancho that they were not allowed to break in without permission. Shun tried to back up Megane and Bancho but he was scolded himself. Ruriko decided to check Room 104 by herself.

Ruriko went to check Room 104, and as she opened the door she screamed.

Everybody was playing cards as they wait for Ruriko. Megane shared a story of a movie about aliens exchanging bodies with humans, so he suggested that maybe the same thing happened to Ruriko. After a while, Ruriko came back acting strange. Shun approached Ruriko and asked what had happened. Ruriko just answered that she wanted to get some sleep. After Ruriko went out of the room, Kaoru said she might not be Ruriko. Megane volunteered to check Room 104 and told Shun that if something happened to him, he should take over.

Megane admitted to himself that he just talked big and he was actually scared. Megane trembled as he approached the forbidden room. When he was about to open the door, Ruriko appeared and invited him to come with her and be one of them. Megane screamed in fear.

Shun heard Megane's scream. The remaining of the Gate Keepers party went outside. Shun asked Kaoru and Reiko to check the rooms. When Kaoru and Reiko came back, they reported that no one was there. Shun decided to check the forbidden room. Bancho asked if they really have to. Kaoru and Reiko agreed with Shun so Bancho was forced to join them because he did not want to be alone. On their way to the forbidden room, someone grabbed Reiko. A bit later, Shun noticed that Reiko was gone. As they move further, someone also grabbed Kaoru. Bancho noticed that Kaoru was gone too. Shun prepared for a revenge battle, he opened his gate right in front of the Room 104. When the door opened, Shun alertly took his gate back. Shun and Bancho ran outside and asked each other if it was ambush. Girls gathered around them and greeted them "Welcome to Violet Dormitory!" Then, the girls noticed they were not Reiko and Kaoru and they were boys! Ruriko appeared and told Bancho and Shun that they had ruined the party. Senior Shimamura explained that they always prepare a welcome party to those who were new to the dorm. Shimamura only warned Kaoru and Reiko not to come to Room 104 so as not to notice the preparations. Shun asked who gave the idea that they were Invaders. Megane (who was in charge with the confetti) admitted it was his idea and apologized from the top while constantly dropping the confetti. Ruriko explained to Shun that she asked Megane to help out. Shun asked Ruriko why she did not tell him about it. Ruriko told Shun he may tell Reiko and Kaoru about the secret party accidentally. Shun told her that he did not want the feeling of having all of them disappear at once. Ruriko noticed the sincereness in Shun's face.

A week had passed since Shirei's decision on voting for a new captain. It looked like Ruriko, Shun, and Megane were nominated. Megane cried because there was only one vote for him (he voted for himself ^_^;) and both Ruriko and Shun tied. Shirei revealed another vote for Shun so he was made the captain. Shirei congratulated Shun and everyone applauded for the new captain. Shun thought Bancho voted for him so he thanked him. Bancho confessed he voted for "Princess Ruriko". Ruriko took the elevator and Shun noticed her. Shun realized that Ruriko voted for him. Ruriko walked away from Tategami campus, happy with the right thing she had done.
