Episode 22: Beat the Jet Black Robot!
[Evil gatekeeper's past told] [Brief summary] A boy was successful in guessing the numbers and suits of playing cards that were faced down on the table. His friends were amazed and asked if he was a clairvoyant. The boy was called Yuji by his friends. Yuji was admired by his friends for he was rich, popular, intelligent and he could forsee anything. (Episode Title) It happened in 1962, Yuji warned his dad not to risk his business by partnering with the man. The man convinced Yuji's father (Mr. Mitsuoka) that the economy was booming and it was the right time for business. Yuji insisted to his father that he meant it, but his father gave him a slap. Yuji could not believe his father did it to him. Time passed and Yuji's father died maybe because of an unsuccessful business. Yuji Mitsuoka became a dirty boy walking along the streets. People talked about him about his ominousness, his friends turned back from him, and no one was kind enough to help him. Yuji happened to come back to a mansion that was once his own. Yuji saw the man who partnered with his dad. The man came to get all the Mitsuoka family's property. Yuji knew it, he tried to confront the man but he got kicked right to his stomach. He fell onto the ground where ants were trailing. Yuji suffered enough pain already. Yuji smashed the ants and even the dead butterfly. Yuji called the man as the worst speck of a bug living. Yuji opened a yellow ring of light which quickly transformed into a black ring. The man was horrified when he saw this, but that was not all. With Yuji's black gate he burned the man's car and even his own house. When everything exploded, the man ran for his life. Yuji, for the first time, enjoyed the sweet feeling of revenge. Shirei finished telling Yuji's story to the Gate Keepers. For Shirei, Yuji Mitsuoka was the assumed Shadow Gatekeeper himself. Shirei said that he got the information from a witness (possibly the man). Yuji Mitsuoka once opened a good gate, a gate that could absorb infinite knowledge and forsee happiness. Shun thought that it was hard for Yuji to experience all the sufferings. Even so, as Bancho said, Shadow should not have kidnapped Ruriko and Megumi. Meanwhile, down under Tokyo tower was a huge crowd of youth gathered for the general assembly of Society for Political Thought. Reiji was on the tower, enjoying the view below. Reiji was preparing for the time that he would trample "bugs" that looked down on him. Shadows of Akuma Hakushaku and Kikai Shogun appeared behind him. It appeared that they were revived by Reiji. They both said that their purpose is to make humans fight. Reiji did not care of what they say, what he wanted was to destroy every human being. Akuma Hakushaku and Kikai Shogun reminded Reiji that they were the ones who gave him dark power. Reiji knew from the beginning that he was being used by these Invader staffs. It was Reiji's turn to use them, so without further ado he absorbed Akuma Hakushaku and Kikai Shogun's shadow bodies and powers into his hand. Reiji said the famous robot-summoning sentence, "Open the gate!" Pitch dark substance released from his hand and it flew above. Above, a jet-black robot descended in front of Reiji. Akuma Hakushaku and Kikai Shogun were in the body of the robot. Reiji asked them if they enjoyed their new body. AEGIS operators detected a huge Invader wave and it was 10,000 times stronger than the normal one. Shirei ordered his Gate Keepers to make sortie in Tokyo Tower, where the wave was detected. Megane drove the AEGIS bus along with the Gate Keepers and Bancho. Megane saw the massive crowd before they even reached the Tokyo Tower. The Gate Keepers remembered that the Society of Political Thought was having a general assembly right then. "Testing, testing," Bancho voiced out with his megaphone. The three co-founders (Isogai, Aya, and Takanashi) of Reiji announced to the crowd that they (Gate Keepers) were the ones who tried to disrupt Reiji's speech in WHK Hall. The crowd treated the Gate Keepers as their enemy. Megane told his comrades that they would not be able to get close to the Tokyo Tower. With the Gate Keepers being stopped by the crowd, Reiji took the advantage and prepared for his plans. Reiji used the "junk" steel Tokyo Tower as the transmitor of radio waves that would summon Invaders all over Japan. Reiji used his Shadow robot as the giver of power to the Tokyo Tower. AEGIS operators detected the occurence of resonance, resulting to popping of Invaders everywhere in Japan. The Invader wave in Tokyo Tower greatly expanded that it did before. Shirei was greatly alarmed. Meanwhile, the Gate Keepers still could not do anything with the crowd. They had to resort to another plan. They got an idea to use Reiko's dazzling melody. Satellite dishes popped outside the bus and Reiko started playing the piano. Reiko's music produced a calming effect on everyone. Aya, Isogai, and Takanashi were also prepared for this. Reiji mentioned to them about the weird music produced by one of the Gate Keepers. The co-founders prepared their huge satelitte dish and countered Reiko's Dazzling Melody. (The music that was playing was Shikkoku no Sekai e! ~ image song of Reiji Kageyama!) The music range of each party were fighting over each other. Bancho increased the volume and Megane warned him not to do it. Megane was late in warning Bancho and so their volume control got broken. The crowd awakened and united to turn over the bus. Shun and Fei climbed to the bus' roof and assaulted the crowd with their "no-contact" Vacuum Missile and Fire Panda. The crowd was convinced that they were ominous but not as convinced when Kaoru carried the bus with bare hands. The crowd scrambled and Kaoru threw the bus right below Tokyo Tower. Having landed below the tower, Megane ejected Gate Robo to the top. Shun and the Gate Robo landed on top of the tower. Reiji showed up right beside the jet-black robot and greeted Shun. Shun told Reiji that he should escape because it was dangerous. Reiji laughed at Shun's stupidity for not noticing. Reiji summoned his black gate, revealing his real form — as Shadow. Shadow went inside the jet-black robot's body. Shun hardly believed it were true. Shun yelled at Shadow that he was just being controlled by the Invaders. Shadow would not listen to him, instead he attacked Gate Robo 0 with Shadow Edge. Shun was surprised when the Shadow Edge destroyed a portion of his Gate Robo's special metallic body. Shun insisted that there had to be some mistake. Shadow asked back, "mistake?" and cut a steel from Tokyo Tower. Still, Shun could not believe it; because Reiji was the one who gave him confidence. Shadow asked Shun if he knew his real name. "Yuji Mitsuoka..." uttered Shun. Having heard of this, Shadow attacked Shun. Shun prepared his Vacuum Missile but was not able to attack Shadow when he remembered how Yuji Mitsuoka suffered. Gate Robo's attacking hand was still before Shadow Robot's body. Shadow called Shun an idiot, same idiot who was sympathizing for his enemies. Shadow snapped his fingers and Megumi and the sleeping Ruriko (encased in a transparent green substance) appeared. Shadow said that Megumi helped him in capturing Ruriko. Shadow mocked Shun that he would awaken Ruriko's hatred that would result to transforming her gate of life into gate of genocide. The power of this gate of genocide was unimaginable because it could mass kill anyone in its path. Having heard of thi, Shun was infuriated. Shun prepared his Gate Robo to tackle Shadow Robot. "Too slow!" Shadow said as he submerged Shadow Robot's hand right into Gate Robo's stomach. Blood-like substance spilled all over Gate Robo's body. Shadow Robot instantly crushed the gate engine that was taken from the helpless robot's stomach. Without the gate engine, Gate Robo was nothing but scrap. Shadow thanked Shun for making his school life fun (using Reiji's kind tone). Shadow changed back to his evil tone and said that Shun's death would be his graduation. While Shadow was about to finish Shun off, snow fell and Yukino appeared. Yukino told Shun that she did not want to see Saemi in sorrow. Yukino summoned her gate of ice and snow and even though she was not even revealing its true power, Shadow and Megumi retreated. Shun called out for Ruriko but he was too late since Shadow (with Megumi and Ruriko) was already gone. Shun shedded tears and believed that he was nothing but a speck of bug as Shadow/Reiji said. Still crying, he tried starting his Gate Robo but to no avail. Snow still continued to fall in Tokyo as if lamenting with Shun. |

23: Exert all your courage to fight! [Brief summary] "Assemble to order! Assemble to order! A new edict has been issued." an Invader was spreading the news to fellow Invaders. Previous Invaders that we had seen were all over Tokyo. They heard the command and assembled. "Assemble under our new master!" Reiji stood in front of the fleet of pink-dressed girls. "Let's go my faithful servants," Reiji said then led his fleet away, laughing. (Episode Title) The sky was already orange and just below Tokyo Tower was the AEGIS Bus. Inside, the girls were waiting for Shun to be conscious. Shun made a slight movement and became conscious. Kaoru was happy that Shun finally woke up but her happy reaction changed when he called for Ruriko. Reiko told Shun that Kaoru carried him with Gate Robo to the bus. Shun remembered Ruriko and Megumi were in Reiji's custody. "I have to go, I must." Shun said, not knowing what to do next. Shun saw Gate Robo, its engine removed. Shun turned to them and said he would go even without Gate Robo. Kaoru extended her arms, blocking Shun's way, while Fei told him that Invaders were everywhere. Shun said he would ask the help of AEGIS. Megane just got an information from a secret agent that AEGIS Base was taken over by Invaders. Shun was shocked but was willing to go. But Kaoru would not let Shun and would even use her force to stop him. Shun yelled at Kaoru to move away but Kaoru would not. Kaoru even threw Shun to Bancho just to stop him. Kaoru pleaded Shun not to go because there was no way he could do two things at once: defeat Reiji and save Ruriko. With Shirei on custody, Shun was their only hope. Kaoru reminded Shun he was their captain. Shun just realized he was not acting like a captain. Megane alarmed his comrades that Invaders found them. Just outside were Invader cannon balls that were coming to them. Megane started the bus and raced for their lives. Fei eliminated some of the balls with Fire Panda. Reiko played the piano and calmed the rest of the cannon balls. They needed a place to hideout (and a place to repair the robot) because they could not just forever ran away. Shun had a perfect hideout in mind. It seemed that Shun did not want to come to that place. In New York Headquarters, Jim was having a confrontation with the head commander. Jim asked the head why the three of them were not sent to help the Far East Branch. The head commander even withdrew their army. Jim asked the head if he was going to desert Far East Branch. The head commander replied that they had no choice. For world peace, the head commander could not think of another way but sacrifice Japan. Jim disapproved the decision of the head commander. The head commander reaffirmed that it had been decided. WHK media crew entered the office of the new Prime Minister. Prime Minister Reiji asked the media crew how long it would take them to prepare. They replied that it would take them until tomorrow evening. Reiji demanded that it was too late so he decided that it should be tomorrow morning. The helpless media crew agreed. Reiji posed his usual evil grin. It was already dark. The place Shun had in mind was his father's garage. Inside the garage, Megane was starting to repair Gate Robo. Megane could repair some parts of the robot temporarily but he could not do anything with the ruined gate engine. Bancho insisted there has got to be a way. Megane could not do anything about it. Shun frowned. Kaoru noticed it so she thought of something to say. Kaoru remarked that there were lots of tools in the garage. Reiko added it must be Shun's father's workshop. Shun said it was not work but hobby, then he jumped down the robot. Shun picked up his broken toy plane and remembered his liar father. Bancho lost his balance and fell down from the robot. Bancho held to a car cover, that was just adjacent to Gate Robo. Megane looked down and asked Bancho if he was fine. To Megane's surprise, the car that was now uncovered bore GEX-0000 — the original Gate Engine. Shun was shocked himself that his dad had it. Megane confirmed it was a genuine Gate Engine. "Mr. Robot will be alive!" said the ever cheerful Reiko. Megane said the engine was alive so they would be fine. "We'll be all right, senpai!" exclaimed Kaoru to Shun . Shun opened the garage's door and ran away. While running, Shun kept asking himself why the Gate Engine was in his father's car. Shun arrived home. Shun caught his breath before he could speak. Kazuko was not surprised to see his son and even invited him for supper. Shun asked his mother about his father. Shun looked at the portrait of his father and said that all he knew was that he caused trouble and left them. Shun continued that the engine (his father may be the engine's inventor) was more important for his graduation. Kazuko led Shun to the drawer, telling him that he misunderstood his father. She took out a broken watch. It recorded the time 9:40, the time the clock stopped working and also the time his father died. Kazuko explained that Hiromi (Shun's father) was on his way to the graduation. "But he was testing the engine," Shun insisted. "The engine has already been completed!" Kazuko said. Kazuko narrated what really happened. Hiromi found a sponsor for his engine, on the back seat is an AEGIS Folder (!). Hiromi peeked at his watch and realized that he would be late for Shun's graduation. Having the urge to hurry for his son's graduation, rings of light started to form around his eyes.. Kazuko continued that Hiromi really tried hard to keep his promise. Shun realized his father had the same power like his. Hiromi could not take the gate that he just opened so his car crashed, not to mention that the car's hood was removed (that's why Megane saw the engine immediately)."Ahhh!" Shun fell to his knees, tears started to fall from his eyes. Shun asked his mother why she did not tell him earlier. Kazuko said he never listened. Kaoru was just listening outside. "Ma, I, no, we need Dad's engine…" Shun said, asking for Kazuko's permission. "Use it for him! He'd be happy, right?" Kazuko said while looking at Hiromi's portrait. Shun gazed up too. Shun thanked his mother. Shun went out and noticed teary-eyed Kaoru. Shun and Kaoru looked back at his mother then Shun closed the door. After a few seconds, the door opened again. Saemi entered and asked if Shun was just home. "Of course, this is also Shun's home." said Kazuko. Ruriko was still inside the green substance. Ruriko was dreaming of her past. Young Ruriko was in the middle. "Because she is not a sniveler like you!" Shun's voice was echoing. Young Ruriko was sniveling then. "I'm not a sniveler. I tried harder!" young Ruriko narrated. Young Ruriko sneezed. "Shun will be surprised," continued young Ruriko and then sneezed again. "At how gorgeous I've become. But…but…" A scene of an unfamiliar girl (maybe Miyu? The girl who Shun claimed he liked because she's not a sniveler) was in front of a class. "No, it'll be all right. You could do it someday. People will realize…" Ruriko continued without sneezing. Then another scene of Miyu, now shaking hands with Ruriko (I think Ruriko equaled with Miyu in class)."Is this the real Ruriko, this is different from who she is" Megumi mumbled. Megumi penetrated a little deeper into Ruriko's heart. Megumi wanted Ruriko to show her real ugly intention. Young Ruriko heard Megumi's voice saying, "No one recognizes you." Scenes of Miyu, vase incident (where fellow classmates blamed her), a running Ruriko who fell to her knees, and a scene where everyone was looking down to her. "Hate those who didn't appreciate you!" Megumi instilled it to Ruriko."But I…" Ruriko spoke from the green substance. "It's good we have Gate Engine" Kaoru said while running with Shun. "But we still don't know if it will work." Shun did not want to fill his hopes. Then Kaoru asked a question on how he feels for Ruriko. "Ruri?!" Shun asked back. Light snowfalls showered them. Yukino appeared floating but descended. "A little girl is crying. She is crying." Yukino said. Shun stepped forward and he was instantly sent to a vision. Shun saw Megumi and Ruriko from a distance. Shun called Ruriko and Megumi. Megumi did not hear Shun. "Hate those who didn't recognize you!" Megumi whispered to the unconscious Ruriko. "No I can't, because I, I am a sniveler." "Then hate Shun who insulted you as a sniveller…What's the matter?" Megumi said. "Because I, I…" Ruriko was trying to say something. Shun called out for Ruriko but no use. Shun tried to get their attention by hitting the barrier that separated Shun from his vision. Then Shun was sent back to where Kaoru was. Shun asked Yukino why he always helped them. "I'll be waiting for you. Forever, until my black hair turns gray. You two are just like us in the forgotten past. I just don't like you to repeat it, that's all..." Yukino replied in a verse and quickly disappeared. "Let's go get the Gate Robo!" Shun said with determination. The next day, a reporter broadcast all over Japan that at exactly 7 AM Japan would be under a new Prime Minister - Reiji Kageyama. On black and white TV, Reiji proclaimed his absolute law and that everyone would be under Invader Security Corps. The camera changed its focus to the reporter who encouraged viewers to save Japan. Reiji ordered the girls to send him out. AEGIS soldiers-turned-Invader soldiers were defeated. "Oh, it feels good!" Marilyn Monroe wannabe to the rescue! Marilyn Monroe wannabe was just holding a giant bazooka she used to defeat the Invaders. Shirei commended Marilyn Monroe wannabe. Miss Ochiai asked who she was. Shirei revealed she was Miss Ogawa — an AEGIS secret officer. Then they escaped. The robot was ready. Shun started his robot while following Megane's instructions. Gate Robo slowly sat up and finally stood up. Megane cried for joy. Mr. Matsuda happened to pass by with another of his vehicle. Mr. Matsuda thought the robot was another of the bad guys. Mr. Matsuda recognized Shun's voice when Shun called him. "Nice timing!" Shun told Mr. Matsuda. "You saved us!" everyone exclaimed in chorus. Reiji declared his deprivation of freedom of "bugs." Those who act like bugs would be eliminated by the Invaders. Reiji even added that they would just contribute to population adjustment. Reiji did not end there, he even deprived everyone the freedom to sunlight. Reiji laughed evily. |

24: Final Episode: For Tomorrow's Smile... [Brief summary] Mr. Matsuda was speeding his truck while being followed by Invader cannon balls. Bancho started to panic and shook Megane. Bancho demanded to use Shun's power against the balls. Megane shook Bancho back and refused. Fei, who was just above the truck, agreed with Megane. Their captain and the Gate Robo were their only last hope. Fei was ready to fight and so was Reiko. Fei would not allow any loved ones to disappear and Reiko would become a good witch for everyone. Fei prepared on the truck's back compartment, where the robot was covered. Reiko followed and started playing her portable piano that made a cliff illusion. Invader cannon balls started falling down the cliff. After accumulating enough power, Fei unleashed her Fire Dragon breaking down remaining Invader cannon balls. The truck speeded away. -Episode title embedded: "For Tomorrow's Smile..."-Reiji was still giving a speech nation wide when a girl (one of Aya, Isogai, Takanashi trio) whispered to Reiji about their incoming enemy. Reiji required the media crew to continue outside because they may broadcast something interesting.More Invader cannon balls ran after Mr. Matsuda's truck. Fei and Reiko had used up their stamina yet they continued fighting. Shun appeared from the truck compartment and offered to handle the Invaders. Kaoru who was with Shun would not allow him. Kaoru said Shun should only fight Reiji or else she would be sorry for Ruriko. Suddenly, the Invader cannon balls casted smaller cannon balls at them. Shun and Kaoru managed to dodge. A small cannon ball hit the truck and Fei screamed. Reiko called Fei but there was no answer. Reiko's inherent power was amplified with her emotions. An illusion of a golf course was formed and the Invader cannon balls were enticed into a golf hole. The Invader cannon balls (golf balls at that time) collected to one hole until they burst. Reiko cried, thinking that Fei was dead. Fei called Reiko who was just lying within the truck compartment. Fei was not even wounded. ^_^; Fei remarked Reiko was incredible when she snapped. Reiko asked what 'snapped' meant. ^__^;;; Reiji whistled that called the huge one-eyed spitz — Cyclops! Cyclops jumped from behind Diet Building and went for the Gate Keepers Party. Bancho shrieked when he saw Cyclops again. Kaoru volunteered to fight it. Kaoru jumped off the truck and met up with Cyclops. Kaoru gave it a hard kick making Cyclops temporarily unconscious. Shun tried to reach out for Kaoru's hand but Kaoru wanted them to hurry to Diet Building. Shun called Mr. Matsuda to stop the car and Kaoru angrily told Shun that he should be honest with his feelings. Kaoru knew how Shun wanted so much to destroy Reiji all because of Ruriko. After that, Kaoru encouraged Shun he could do it. The truck was finally out of sight. But then Bancho ran to Kaoru. Cyclops woke up right behind Kaoru and was about to swallow her... The truck stopped when the Invader Centipedes were blocking the way to Diet Building. The Centipedes reformed into a Massive Wall. Fei even said it was way bigger than Great Wall of China! A YS-11 zoomed. A discharging of electricity destroyed the Massive Wall. The Gray Gate Robo 03 appeared. Misao calculated the location of an enemy. Jim went to the direction unseen. Invader Underground Diggers that just appeared had already holes. The Underground Diggers also disappeared. What speed! Shun was surprised to see Jim, Misao, and Jun. Jun said they'd better thank Shirei. YS-11 was just above, Shirei and Ochiai were in it. Shirei informed Shun that they would take care of the enemies so he'd better hurry to Shadow. Shun affirmed Shirei's instruction. Shun and Gate Robo 0 has finally arrived in Diet Building. Reiji Kageyama was just waiting outside. Bancho caught Cyclops' jaws and stopped it from swallowing Kaoru. Bancho was now in danger. Bancho could not hold on to Cyclop's jaws. Kaoru helped but Bancho was swallowed. Kaoru cried and began punching Cyclops. From Cyclops' stomach, Bancho's voice was heard. "GATE OYABUN!" (gate gang chief) Unexpectedly, Bancho had a real power within. Bancho forced open Cyclops' mouth. "GIVE ME POWER!" Bancho jumped off and took Cyclops by the head. "HYPER INSIDE CIRCLE THROW!" With such tremendous power, Bancho threw Cyclops far away, this time dead-unconscious. Kaoru was surprised with what Bancho had done. Nonetheless, Kaoru ran to Bancho and gave him an embrace. Bancho smiled >comically< and revealed a missing tooth. Reiji insulted Shun and then he started sunlight-deprivation. Countless Invader Planes appeared in the sky. Invader planes stretched like black clouds and covered the azure. Everyone feared it. After that, Reiji summoned his Jet-black Robot. "Open the Gate!" Jet-black Robot rose from the ground. Ruriko was still in the green substance, still under Megumi's custody. Megumi had an evil look. The green substance started to boil and Ruriko slowly became conscious. Ruriko's eyes were not normal, there were black rings circling it. Jet-black Robo continuously offensed while Gate Robo defended. The reporter just broadcasted what was happening but called Reiji Kageyama, the good Prime Minister and Shun, a rebel. Reiji began an angry speech while continually attacking. Reiji explained the real origin of Invaders. According to Reiji, Invaders were not from outerspace, they were paracreatures that multiply by eating endless human desires. Reiji blamed humans for inviting Invaders. Gate Robo 0 received all damage and had not even hurt Jet-black Robo. Angrily, Shun gave Reiji an uppercut but it missed. Reiji laughed at Shun's unsuccessfulness. Jet-black Robo released black whips and began to strangle Gate Robo 0. Reiji continued to enjoy it and perceived that the future would be pitch black. What Reiji wanted was to crush the 'bugs' that trampled him when he was young. Reiji continued to maneuvre his robot to destroy Gate Robo 0. Gate Robo 0 had already lost an arm but it was not enough. Jet-black Robo squeezed Gate Robo 0 tightly with its whips. Shun felt the pain of his robot. The reporter changed the phase of his report. The reporter pleaded red robot to defeat the black robot. Saemi was watching closely on TV. Jet-black robo had gone far enough. The whips pierced Gate Robo's body and took the Gate Engine. The Gate Engine was hanging loosely. "Otochan's Engine!" Shun cried (if you had not noticed in ep 24 he called his father oyaji [one's old man] now its otochan!] Shun hit a red button and the Gate Robo's head got off. (emergency exit button?) Jet-black robo attacked the headless robot more. Gate Robo's chassis was destroyed and the exhausted Shun was revealed inside. Saemi could not believe she was seeing her brother. Kazuko asked Saemi if she had forgotten how her brother looked like. "Don't give up brother!" Saemi said. Gate Robo was hit again, resulting to the complete separation of Gate Engine. Shun jumped off the skinless robot and went to the fallen engine. Shun banged and demanded the engine to work. (asking his father if that's just it) The important parts of the robot's dashboard reacted and greatly increased output shown. Shun realized it and looked up to Reiji. Reiji finally called out Megumi. Megumi and Ruriko rose from the ground. Shun was happy to see Ruriko. Megumi started manipulating Ruriko. Black rings began circling Ruriko's eyes. Reiji said everyone had hatred in the depths of their heart. Shun could not believe it. Reiji even 'enlightened' Shun more and said it was Ruriko's Gate of Genocide, opposite of her Gate of Life. "Don't do it Rurippe!" Shun pleaded. Ruriko spoke with empty emotion saying no one knew how good she really was. Ruriko opened an external black gate. The others watching could not believe it. Ruriko prepared to kill those who called her sniveler and that was Shun. Her bow appeared in her hands and said she was not a sniveler. "Idiot! I would have never gave you my treasure if I really hated you!" Shun said to Ruriko. < Flashback> Shun was happy he was able to make a godzilla-like toy (the treasure...-_-;) from wood. Shun gave it to Ruriko as a goodbye gift when he was leaving the neighborhood. < Flashback> No matter what, for Shun Ruriko was Rurippe, his most favorite person. A black arrow appeared in Ruriko's hand. Ruriko's emptiness was focused on killing Shun. Shun could not do anything but look down. The black arrow was released and was dashing through Shun's heart. However, the emotionless Ruriko realized something. With Ruriko's will, the dark arrow bursted into yellow light. Shun realized it was the Light of Life. Ruriko regained her normal self and uttered Shun's name. After that she fell on the ground. Shun came to Ruriko and called her. Reiji asked for Megumi's explanation. Megumi said she lost Ruriko's only hatred when Shun revealed his true feelings. Reiji revealed he was just using Megumi. Megumi admitted another defeat against Ruriko. Shun stood up from Ruriko's side and called Reiji angrily. Shun would not tolerate anymore manipulation from Reiji. Shun's pocket wooden sword extended as he prepared to attack. Fast wind was collected by the sword. Shun jumped to the Jet-black robo and yelled a new attack's name, "Ultra Whirlwind Thrust!" Shun pointed the sword through Jet-black Robo's hand and penetrated it. Reiji could not believe Shun was able to summon such tremendous power. The Gate Engine was also reacting to Shun's power and because of it, Gate Engine exploded. From Jet-black Robo's hand, Shun's sword went through the arms and through the heart. Jet-black was forced-open and was destroyed into metallic black pieces. Shun took Reji by his coat and was crying to him. Shun said Reiji was not really like that. The vacuum that was created from Shun's power (maybe) was absorbing anything evil. Reiji gave off a faint smile and kicked Shun off and allowed himself to be absorbed by the vacuum hole. Shun fell somewhere. The Reiji-girls trio (Aya, Isogai, and Takanashi) were holding to each other, Megumi was protecting the unconscious Ruriko, and Bancho was protecting the Gate Keepers. Saemi ran to the door to find her brother. Yukino appeared outside. Saemi cried to Yukino about her brother and Yukino assured her that her brother was fine. All the Invaders, including Reiji were nowhere to be seen. Shun stood up and walked to Ruriko but he fell to his knees before he could reach her. Ruriko awakened (btw, Megumi was nowhere to be seen) and saw Shun. Ruriko rose and rushed to Shun and caught him before he completely fell. The Gate Keepers, Bancho, and Megane rushed to Shun. Each of them called him. Shun apologized to Ruriko for not finding her earlier. Shun went unconscious. Ruriko cried and finally confessed that she really loved him. Along with her tears and confession was a release of her gate of life. Yukino gave off the last of her verses, "Spring is in the air. Bright future is seen in the mountains." -Hospital scenes- Just outside a hospital room were AEGIS Soldiers and two kids wearing AEGIS shirts. The Gate Keepers Party (with Bancho and Megane, minus Megumi) were talking about Shun's recovery. The girls got in a talk about Ruriko kissing Shun. When she finally looks to see where she's going, she's startled to find Shun about to run into her. He's just as surprised too.
