Comedic Irony At its Best

Okay quick synopsis time!

Here's what happened. 1) Diana and me decided to have some fun with Botan and Koenma.

2) We made Koenma get obsessed with pizza, (teehee!) in order to set up some uh, strange situations.

3) George overheard Koenma eating pizza in his room, thought he was fooling around with our favorite ferry girl. Trying to keep it a secret, he later spills the beans to a co-worker, and the new spreads to Lord Enma.

4) Venus does her thang, and we make Koenma and Botan really fool around, (no pizza this time)

5) Diana makes me stop them from going erm, too far, and Enma walks in.

Even though George really just overheard Koenma eating, he thinks they're fooling around, which they end up doing AFTER he leaves! See the irony? See the irony?

Yes Diana, we can see the irony. Okay, 6) Koenma passes out because of all the stress that came suddenly from all the things that were happening, and Botan faints a few seconds later.

7) As she passed out, Botan had bonked her head against Koenma's bedpost. She got a concussion and is as of now in the hospital, in a coma. Koenma woke up a few minutes later, and explained to his father about the pizza. He failed to speak of the kissing incident, and said that it was by total accident Botan and him were in that erm, compromising position. However, he is very guilty that Botan ended up in the hospital and visits her whenever he can.

That concludes everything that has happened up to today, Thursday. So let's get back to the story. Intriguing isn't it?



~ Thursday ~

Koenma ran into the hospital. He had just gotten a call from the nurse saying Botan had shown signs of progress, and may even wake up that very day. Sprinting down the hallway, he screeched to a halt as he turned into her room. Panting he tried to speak to the nurse

"Is she awake? Is she okay? Did I get here too late?"

"One question at a time, Koenma-sama! She just woke up a second ago, and she's fine!"

His eyes brightening, Koenma walked over to the hospital bed, happy so see Botan awake.

"Botan-chan! Are you okay?"

Botan, always the courteous one, replied in a whisper. "Koenma-sama, I'm only your ferry girl, you needn't call me Botan-chan...."

Koenma was too happy to respond. "Botan, shh, you need rest, don't talk...I'm so sorry for everything I had done last Sunday."

Botan frowned. She couldn't remember what happened. "What did happen last Sunday?"

Now it was Koenma's turn to frown. "You don't remember?"

"No. I remember giving you some pizza. But everything after that is a blur."

Koenma chuckled. So even she doesn't remember what happened. Maybe it was better not to tell her, since even he didn't exactly understand what was going on. Sighing, he returned his attention back to his ferry girl. It would be hard, but he can't let anyone else know what happened. He had covered so well with the pizza thing, which wasn't exactly a lie but not the whole truth, and it would be too complicated to try to explain the real truth.

"Somebody is messing with my life," he thought out loud, shaking his head.

"Huh?" said Botan, thinking he was talking to her.

"Um, erm, nothing. You should get some rest..."



All right, now Venus, you have to do me a favor!

Now what?

Hey, come on...I think you'll like it. Okay here is the plan. You speed up Koenma's feelings and make him fall in love with Botan, while she is in the hospital. Then we'll take it from there, okay?

I see where this is going! Love and compromising situations: the more the merrier!

Now you're getting me, Venus!

Venus floated above Koenma's head and chanted a poetic love spell, then returned to her seat next to Diana.

Excellent! Mwahahaha......



Koenma felt a strange, warm, fuzzy sensation run up his spine. Looking at Botan, sleeping peacefully in her hospital bed, he long to touch her, hold her, even kiss her...Whoa, hold up a second here, what's with these weird feelings he was having? He had never felt this way towards Botan before, why are they suddenly coming up now?

"Koenma-sama?" a meek voice made Koenma turn around.

"Botan-chan?" Hearing his name repeated by her sounded weird to him. It was too formal for his tastes. "Please stop calling me Koenma-sama. I think of you more than a simple employee, and I hope you think of me as more than just your boss, you know." He said quietly.

Botan was pretty tired, and at first all she could do was nod. Then, gathering a little strength, she replied in a whisper, "I think of you as more than a boss, you're also a great friend."

Her words brought a strange sense of pride in Koenma. It also brought a little bit of curiosity. "Botan-chan, do you ever think of me as more than a friend?"

But Botan was already fast asleep.
