Note:
Sorry for the extremely long delay. I know, I know, it was like six years (well, maybe only 1), but I'll make up for it!!!! I promise! Anyways, part 6 has basically just been sitting in my CPU's hard drive for a long time, so I did some editing, and here it is! Enjoy! As usual, your hosts shall be the beautiful and erm... completely sane (cough cough) goddesses, Diana and Venus. Here we go:

Wow, this is getting good! Let me just grab some popcorn and chapter 6 is on its way!

Wonder what'll happen next...

* * *

Tock! Tock!

"Botan you in there?" Koenma asked, impatient.

After Botan had ran off, he figured he'd give her an hour to get over the initial shock of him admitting his love for her. Heck, it took him at least 5 minutes to realize what he had just done! His mouth seemed to have had a mind of its own in there. But after a few moments of thought, he finally admitted what he knew was true: He really did love Botan.

Of course, this was only a recent development. Botan and him had only been friends, his only friend, and the relationship never went farther. Then, when that whole, erm, kissing thing happened, his feelings began to unravel. All through this week he had a longing to maybe...kiss her one more time, but he had simply shrugged it off. Now, however, thanks to his big mouth, he finally admitted his feelings.

And how did she take it? Not so good. Which is why he was standing at her door, hoping she'd talk to him.

"Botan, we really need to talk! If you don't open up, I'm going to break the door down!" He wasn't really going to do something so drastic, but he thought it might make her comply.

After a few seconds... Click. Botan unlocked the door. Opening it, she immediately lowered her head, so that eye contact was impossible. "Koenma-sama? We...we shouldn't have done that...I mean..."

Koenma's brain didn't know what to say. However, his heart was full of ideas. "Botan-chan... You know what I had said earlier...? Well, seeing you now makes my heart pound and my head swirl, and you have to believe me, it's because I am in love with you..."

Botan slowly shook her head. "No, Koenma-sama! You...you, can't love me! You can't!"

"Its too late Botan! I already do." He gently took her hand in his.

Botan backed away at the feel of Koenma's touch. "Koenma-sama...what would your father do if he knew?"

Inside Koenma's conscience was screaming, "She's right! You father will kill you!" But, mind you, his heart was in charge right now.

"I have no idea, and I don't very well care..." And with those words, he simply kissed her. Surprisingly, our little ferry girl kissed back.

As Koenma got lost in the sweet bliss of her response, his heart was distracted, and so it gave his conscience enough time to finally speak up...

Hey now, let's examine the little prince's conscience shall we?

Yay! Fun!

Alrightie. As we enter the brain, we ask that you keep all hands and feet, in the fanfic. Thank you.

Field Trip! Field Trip!

Here we are at emotions! On your left, you see the happy emotion. At the moment, Koenma is ecstatic because Botan kissed him back, obviously meaning she has feelings for him. On your right, we have anxious. He is also anxious, because he doesn't know what to do next.

Okay...but what's that big shiny one, the one that keeps flashing blue on and off?

Uh, that one? That is the afraid emotion. You see, Koenma's conscience has awoken, and he realizes that he is gonna be in some BIG trouble when his father hears of this! Oh, and he's afraid that he might have bad breath. But that's not the biggest problem on his mind.

How bout that red one?

That's called 'love'. Were not sure what it does. It's been broken for a while, but about last week, it started working. Our specialist, Common Sense, is looking into it. Anyways, thus ends our tour! Come again any time! Were open, 24/7 and children are only 2.50 a piece!

After their kissing had ended, there was a slight pause of embarrassment/awkwardness. Botan took the time to think. She knew she had feelings for Koenma-sama, well, she always had. He was her friend, probably her best friend. But he never allowed it to become more than that. Deep down she wished things could be different... but the consequences of such a relationship, one between a ferry girl and a prince, were deadly. Koenma-sama had always been so busy and cold-hearted towards her that the idea of love between them was thought to be an idle dream. But now... now maybe... there was a chance?

With these thoughts running through her mind, Botan looked up into Koenma's eyes in fear. "Koenma-sama? I-I, think I'm in love with you..."

Koenma's face gave away no emotion. It was as if the processing unit in his brain was broken. In a period of 2.5 seconds, Koenma's mind went through a series of stages: Disbelief, Denial, Re-comprehension, full understanding, then utmost joy.

Not knowing what to say, Koenma just decided to sing his ferry girl's praises. "My God Botan, how could I have lived 300 years with you, and not notice how wonderful you are?"

His excitement was contagious. Botan giggled her famous laugh. "I don't know, maybe your blind, ne?"

Koenma could only laugh, and then smile at seeing Botan become as happy as himself.

"But Koenma-sama?"

"Yes, Botan-chan?"

"Are you going to tell you dad?"

Insert dead silence. "Um, I kinda forgot about him..."

"So, let me get this straight. You, a prince, fall in love with me, a ferry girl, and you didn't even bother to think of the consequences?" If the situation wasn't so serious, Botan probably would have broke out laughing... or maybe smack Koenma upside the head with an oar!

Koenma hung his head. "I was too caught up in it all, I guess. Who knows what I've been thinking..."

Botan sighed. She had figured it too good to be true. With a reluctant heart, she gave her boss an easy way out of the mess she was sure was her fault. "You know Koenma-sama, maybe it would be a good idea to forget what happened, and just go back to normal...."

Koenma shook his head at the idea. "Botan I'm in LOVE. Not that I'm the expert on it, but I don't think I can really get out of it so easily..." He looked into her eyes. "I was kind of hoping you felt the same way, you know."

"Koenma-sama, I realize now that I do love you, I just don't want you to get into trouble. You know what Lord Enma would do..."

"What if he didn't know?"

The thought startled Botan. "Do you think we'd be able to keep something like this a secret? I mean, it would be hard..."

"I know, but we could do it, right? I mean, the only person we'd have to worry about is George. And bring a pizza or something, we can use it as a cover up..." Koenma's eyes dilated as a plan began to form inside of his head.

Botan smiled. She liked Koenma this way. Much better than the little grouchy boss she was used to. Much cuter, too... With a shrug, she figured she'd give it a chance.
