Top 5.
1 - Shisou Koenma: Dreaming of Death
By: Take
"Dreaming of Death" has got to be my favorite KoBo
fic. It's really (*really*) short, but it's just so...
::shivers:: Well, somewhere halfway between "touching"
and "creepy," just the way I like my fics ^.^
Also, this fic was very well written, which is
important to me. I'm a stickler for good grammar and
spelling- in fact, I've had to give up on reading some
things becasue I can't stand the grammar (I'm not
stuck up, it's just my pet peeve).
2 - Missed
By: Ryoma
Sweet, touching, and funny! I love fics that start
out very serious/romantic, and then halfway through
take a strange, bizarre twist. I must liken this fic
to a roller coaster: loop-the-loops, switchbacks, and
lots of steep, speed-driven drops! And yes, the humor
in the fic is a lot better than the humor found here.
3 - Who's That Girl?
By: Misty and Karina
It's George! As self-proclaimed George the oni no
miko (yes, he has a miko), I applaude the authors of
this fic. Not only did they manage to write a lovely
little romantic comedy, but they also got in a lot of
the characters in addition to Koenma and Botan, which
is nice because so often authors tend to "forget"
about any other characters in the series (hey- don't
look at me like that, I realize that I do the exact
same thing). This fic had me rolling on the floor with
laughter, and at the same time had me guessing the
entire time (no, you don't want to know who I thought
"that girl" was...)
4 - When You Opened My Eyes
By: Manille
Umm... do you see a trend in the fics here? Yet
another romantic comedy... Well, it's sort of a
comedy. Kind of. Not really. In fact, I'm probably the
only one who found any humor in it at all.
Manille is an excellent author (as no doubt many
people will tell you), and I can't help but wish that
more of her fics were KoBo.
5 - I Wish
By: Botan no Miko
I'm a diehard fan of angst and unrequited love. If a
fic has either one, I'll read it in a flash. I wasn't
that sure about this fic until I got to the end, and
then one line sold me: "My heart breaks. Pain no
longer exists." It made me want to cry. I made me want
to curl up in a corner. And, most importantly, it made
me want to write a really cool angst fic. A fic that
inspires you to write your own is a Good Fic, in my
opinion.
Go. Read it. Now. ::glares::
